A talk by Margaret Bozic

Citizen's Advice Cases in 1950s Tyneside: Domestics, divorces, rehousing

This talk by Margaret Bozic uses case work reports from the Newcastle Citizens Advice Bureau after the Second World War until the early 1960s, as well as extracts from the reports of the Tyneside Council of Social Services in that period.

These describe some of the social problems of the time and Margaret puts them into their local context. There is also an outline of the work done by the CAB and the Council of Social Services then and now.

Book in person / by phone or online below. (If sold out online, don't worry! We usually have more available in the library - just call in/ phone)
