1920 was the year when the Unknown Warrior was brought back to his final resting place in Westminster Abbey. On a more personal level, some grieving families may have found solace in a visit to the battlefields or comfort from spiritualism. This talk examines some of the ways in which the nation tried to honour and remember those who would never return home from the Great War.
