Sid Chaplin: A Writing Life
Keith Jewitt surveys Sid Chaplin’s life as a writer, from early days as a pitman-poet to later eminence as a novelist, journalist and public figure. The two talks, covering 1940-50 and 1950 onwards, are based on research in Newcastle University’s Sid Chaplin archive, much of which still remains to be explored.
