A deep dive into the extraordinary realm of the Atlantic herring, King of Fishes. Graeme Rigby has spent over 27 years gathering the beautiful information reflected in its silver scales and now these stories have been set down, from A is for A Beginning to Zuiderzee, in a beautiful book: saints & scientists, poets & politicians, fish, fisheries & the folly of mankind; cures, recipes, kippers & red herrings. (There will be herring snacks…)
