Friday 18th July 2025  | 1pm

In a career spanning more than half a century, Greg Abate maintains a punishing concert schedule, performing worldwide at jazz clubs and festivals, touring for up to 250 nights a year. A graduate of Berklee School of Music (Boston, Massachusetts), Abate enjoyed an early career highlight playing lead alto with Ray Charles, later forming his own band (Channel One) and releasing the first of many albums. Hard bop alto sax master Abate has worked alongside many of the finest musicians on either side of the Atlantic. For this Lit & Phil concert the man from Woonsocket, Rhode Island will renew acquaintance with the Dean Stockdale Trio.
