Bicentenary Celebrations Lecture | Howard Carter & Lord Carnarvon – Searching for Tutankhamun

Monday 2nd June 2025  | 6pm

Lectures in association with the North East Ancient Egypt Society

Presented by Gillian Dodds.

The Lit & Phil has presented many lectures over the years on various aspects of Ancient Egypt. We are delighted that the NEAES would like to join us as we celebrate the bicentenary of our building.

This talk will uncover the story of Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon.  Revealing their respective lives, how they occupied their time in Egypt, also how they came to work together, and ultimately searching and finding Tutankhamun’s Tomb.
