Hire the Lit and Phil
The Lit & Phil’s rooms for hire are perfectly situated near Newcastle's Central Station, Tyne & Wear Metro and local bus routes.
The Lit & Phil has three spaces that may be hired during the day/early evening, as well as spaces that may be hired out of hours.

The Knott Room
This space may be hired after hours only. Maximum capacity for a standing only event is 120. Seated, the capacity is 90.
The Committee Room
This room may be hired after opening hours. Accessed via stairs to the gallery, the Committee Room seats a maximum of 20 around a table.
The Joseph Swan Room
A ground floor room, suitable for small meetings or workshops. Maximum capacity is 20 lecture style or 12 seated around tables.
The Lecture Room & The Loftus Room
These ground floor rooms are suitable for larger meetings, lectures, training or workshops. Both rooms are equipped with an overhead projector. In the Loftus Room a full size grand piano is available for hire. The Lecture Room has toilet facilities. Each room has a maximum capacity of 95 lecture style or 40 seated around tables.
