Poetry Reading and Launch

A poetry reading by Sean O’Brien and the launch of his most recent collaboration with Hexham-based artist Birtley Aris.

‘I Found My Way’ is a portfolio of nine pictures, inspired by lines from Sean’s eponymous poem, and published in a signed limited edition of 100.

Sean O’Brien is an award-winning poet, a critic, translator, editor, playwright, novelist and broadcaster. He is Professor of Creative Writing at Newcastle University and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.

Birtley Aris has painted full time since 1982. He has produced a series inspired by Edward Thomas’ ‘Addlestrop’ and has enjoyed collaborating on joint publications with contemporary poets such as Sean, Linda France and Peter Bennet.
