Dating from 1688, Wallington in Northumberland is one of our region's greatest stately houses. It was home to many generations of Blackett and Trevelyan families, who all left their mark over the centuries. With a Palladian exterior and a sumptuous rococo plasterwork interior, one of its finest features is its Central Hall. Decorated to look like an Italian courtyard, and featuring a series of scenes from Northumbrian history by William Bell Scott, it was heavily influenced by Pre-Raphaelites.
