Wilson’s Tales of the Borders: a forgotten Northumbrian literary legacy, Andrew Ayre.

John Mackay Wilson first published his ‘Tales from the Borders’ in 1834 in the Berwick Advertiser. It was a collection of stories, history and ballads that proved a publishing sensation, and is now experiencing a revival in Berwick. Andrew Ayre, director of The Wilson’s Tales Project presents the extraordinary life of John Mackay Wilson. This talk will include a selection of the speaker’s favourite tales and editions.
