The principal members of the Avison Ensemble celebrate the legacy of Newcastle's 18th century composer Charles Avison and the Italian influence on music of the period.
The concert features music by Avison, Corelli, Geminiani, Handel, Purcell and others. One of Avison's manuscript Workbooks will be on view at the concert and the Ensemble will bring to life music from the Workbook during the concert.
