BSL Interpreted performance Saturday 8 September
The Novocastrian Philosophers’ Club has been created by European Players as part of the Dialogues Project.
Each performance lasts approximately 1hour 10minutes, and you will embark on a journey of exploration around the Literary and Philosophical Society Library and the Mining Institute. Along the way you will meet the old Novocastrian Philosophers, Librarians with vivid imaginations, receptionists with quirky admission rules and avenging angels who guard the Libraries books with passion.
The Novocastrian Philosophers’ Club have transformed the Libraries of the Literary and Philosophical Society and the Mining Institute, and during your journey you may encounter, snakes, birds and waterfalls, so prepare to get wet and perhaps confront your fears.
You will be led around the spaces by theatrical guides, and once the tour has begun it is difficult for latecomers to be admitted, so ensure that you turn up a little ahead of the time-slot allotted on your ticket!
Each performance is restricted to only 15 people, and as the evening unfolds you become part of the history, your presence recorded and perhaps discovered by future explorers.
This event involves walking and climbing stairs and is therefore sadly not suitable for people in wheelchairs.
There are FREE BSL interpreted performances on Saturday 8 September.
